2026 ZVBL 12U A & AA End-of-Season Championship Tournaments July 25-26, 2026 | Lake City, MN

The Lake City Youth Softball & Baseball Association (LCYSBA) and Zumbro Valley Baseball League (ZVBL) are proud to host the 2026 12U A and 12U AA End-of-Season Championship Tournaments in Lake City, Minnesota. Celebrate the end of the season with competitive, family-friendly baseball and crown the ZVBL champions!

Event Details

  • Dates: Saturday, July 25 – Sunday, July 26, 2026 (Possible Friday evening games on July 24 if needed based on registration numbers – we will communicate early.)
  • Location: Lake City fields (exact fields and schedule released after registration closes)
  • Divisions: 12U A (Lower) and 12U AA (Upper)
  • Format: Pool play followed by single- or double-elimination bracket play (exact format depends on number of teams). Expect 3+ games guaranteed.
  • Awards: Championship Rings for 1st, Trophies for 2nd, and Medals 3rd place in each division.

Registration Information

Registration Fee: $300 per team (includes umpires, fields, and tournament operations). Deadline: July 15, 2026 (or when divisions fill – register early!).

GameChanger Tournament Tracking

All games will be tracked in GameChanger in a dedicated GC Tournament League setting. This provides live scoring, real-time pitch counts, play-by-play updates, standings, and full tournament stats for coaches, players, and families.

  • A central scorekeeper (or home team) will handle official scoring for each game.
  • Teams should join the tournament league in GameChanger as soon as invited.
  • Please have a designated scorekeeper ready for every game.

Eligibility

  • Open to all ZVBL 12U A and 12U AA teams.
  • Players must meet ZVBL 12U eligibility: Completing 6th grade or younger in 2026.
  • Rosters follow standard ZVBL rules. Call-ups per league policy.

Rules

Tournament play follows 2026 ZVBL 12U A and 12U AA Division Rules, with these tournament-specific notes:

Game Structure

  • Games are 6 innings or no new inning after 1.5 hours from first pitch.
  • 10-run mercy rule after 3.5 or 4 innings.
  • International tiebreaker (runner on 2nd) if time permits.
  • No per-inning run limits.
  • Bases: 75-80 feet; pitching distance: 52–54 feet.
  • Official score entered in GameChanger.

Pitching Rules

  • Daily limit: Max 85 pitches per pitcher per day (finish the at-bat). Max 115 pitches for tournament per player.
  • Pitch counts tracked separately for the tournament (reset from regular season).
  • Balks called; curveballs/breaking pitches allowed in 12U.

Hitting & Base Running

  • Continuous batting order.
  • Leading off and stealing allowed (including home on passed balls).
  • Dropped 3rd strike per ZVBL rules.
  • Courtesy runner for catcher (last batted out).
  • Must slide on close plays; malicious contact = ejection.

Equipment & Safety

  • No metal spikes.
  • Approved bats (USA Baseball, USSSA, BBCOR, or wood).
  • Each team supplies one new game-quality baseball per game.
  • Zero tolerance for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Additional Information

  • Concessions: On-site and family-friendly.
  • Lodging: AmericInn, Sunset Motel, or options in Red Wing/Wabasha.
  • Weather Policy: Play rain or shine unless unsafe. Home team coach determines playability.
  • Sportsmanship: Positive coaching and fan behavior expected. Focus on player development and respect.
