Potential Age Divisions for 2026

Ideally, we will field a team at EACH age group, however there are times when combining teams is needed, if this happens below is an example of how things may line up.

(subject to registration numbers and ability to field teams)

  • 7–8 year olds → combined as 8U
  • 9–10 year olds → combined as 10U
  • 11–12 year olds → combined as 12U
  • 13–14 year olds → combined as 14U

MBL (Metro Baseball League) Option

Some teams may elect to play in the more competitive MBL (coach’s decision).

  • Roster typically limited to 12 players
  • Additional fees may apply (varies by team)
  • Teams choosing MBL will be asked to secure business sponsorships or conduct fundraising to offset any extra costs
  • Coaches will clearly communicate all details if their team opts in

Typical Weekly Commitment

(varies by team and age – this is at coaches discretion)

  • At least 1 game night per week
  • At least 1 practice night per week
  • Older levels (12U/14U) often have 3–4 events per week once the season is in full swing Coaches will communicate schedules as soon as they are set and try to keep nights consistent when possible (weather and field availability may require changes).

Tournament Opportunities

  • Every registered player is guaranteed a spot in the league end-of-year tournament typically held the final 2 weekends in July
  • Additional weekend tournaments are at the coach’s discretion; any costs beyond the LCYSBA team cap will be split among players
  • We host an annual tournament for 10u and 12u which is scheduled for June 20th – 9s, 10s, 11s and 12s are encouraged play in this tourney as it is a freebie
  • MBL teams may enter more tournaments in an effort to qualify for the State Tournament the end of July
